Illustrations for housing repair reporting websites
Several local councils required illustrations to form the basis of their council housing repair reporting websites. Frog Box Design designed medium-sized icons which were representative of eight categories of repairs, each containing around six subcategories, also requiring icons.
The icons served as hyperlinks to larger illustrations showing all the items that might need repairing; say, the clothes line, gutters, paving and gate in a garden. Next, we produced HTML files for each icon and large diagram which contained image maps for the clickable areas.
Finally, we did it all over again! The councils needed diagrams and icons in black and white, and in yellow on black for the version of the repair reporting website that was produced for visually impaired users.
